Mr Joseph Kabanda

President

Mr Joseph Kabanda is a qualified nurse and social-care professional, as well as an experienced radio and television broadcaster and businessman. His professional background combines direct experience of supporting people with strong communication, enterprise and public-engagement skills.

His experience in nursing and social care brings an understanding of dignity, well-being and the varied needs of individuals and families. His broadcasting work strengthens his ability to communicate clearly, engage diverse audiences and represent community interests, while his business experience supports practical decision-making, partnership development and organisational growth.

As President of Grille Community, he provides strategic leadership, chairs the Executive Committee and represents the organisation in key relationships and public engagements. He helps set priorities, maintain collective focus and guide the committee in advancing Grille Community’s objectives around inclusion, culture, community connection, well-being and opportunity.

Mrs Esther Majoro

Vice President and Executive Secretary

Mrs Esther Majoro is a qualified social worker whose professional background brings a strong understanding of people, families, inclusion and community well-being. Her experience supports a compassionate and organised approach to leadership, helping Grille Community remain attentive to the different circumstances, voices and needs represented across its membership.

As Vice President, she supports the President, helps coordinate committee priorities and provides leadership continuity across the organisation. Her social-work perspective strengthens the community’s commitment to participation, dignity, responsible support and appropriate signposting, without presenting Grille Community as a specialist social-work service.

As Executive Secretary, she coordinates committee administration, meeting records, official correspondence and the follow-up of agreed actions. This combined role helps connect leadership decisions with clear communication, accountability and effective implementation across Grille Community’s programmes and activities.

Dr Cedric Marvin Nkiko

Executive Director of Treasury and Sustainability

Dr Nkiko is a sustainability pracademic whose work focuses on sustainability and strategies for private and public enterprises.

As Executive Director of Treasury and Sustainability, he supports responsible financial planning, budgeting, expenditure oversight and transparent reporting. The role is designed to help ensure that Grille Community uses its resources carefully, makes informed financial decisions and plans for both its current commitments and future development.

He also leads the organisation’s sustainability direction, promoting environmentally responsible choices, long-term thinking and programmes that connect today’s decisions with tomorrow’s community. This includes supporting resource efficiency, responsible event practices and the Future Generations programme, helping ensure that Grille Community’s growth creates lasting value for people and the environment.

Miss Rachel Kaggwa

Executive Director of Publicity, Engagement and Communications

A healthcare practitioner with direct experience supporting young people, alongside a strong background in social media and digital content, collaborating with leading brands across the UK and Europe.

She brings together her experience in youth engagement, digital communication and community connection to create meaningful content, engage diverse audiences and build strong online communities. Her work across healthcare, lifestyle and social media provides a distinctive perspective on communicating with people from different backgrounds and generations.

As Executive Director of Publicity, Engagement and Communications at Grille Community, she leads the organisation’s communications, public profile and digital presence. She is responsible for amplifying community voices, showcasing Grille’s programmes and impact, and strengthening engagement with members, partners and the wider public.

Mr Philip Rweyemamu Katongole

Executive Director of ICT, Entertainment and Development

Mr Philip Rweyemamu Katongole has a background in information and communications technology, music programming and production. He brings together technical knowledge and creative experience to support how Grille Community communicates, organises activities and delivers engaging cultural experiences.

As Executive Director of ICT, Entertainment and Development, he supports the organisation’s digital systems and the effective use of technology across its programmes and events. He also helps plan and deliver social, cultural and entertainment activities, including music programming, production coordination and major community events that celebrate heritage and bring people together.

His development responsibilities include helping shape new programmes, partnership opportunities and practical initiatives that support Grille Community’s long-term growth. Through this combined role, he helps connect technology, creativity and organisational development with the community’s objectives of inclusion, cultural connection, participation and shared opportunity.
